The next edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival will take place from March 19th to 27th, 2009.

On Friday 14 at the Auditorio Telmex after eight days of intense activities the closing ceremony of the XXIII edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival took place.

Arcelia Ramírez and Ana Serradilla were the hosts for the night that initiated with the presentation of the local group Movus who played the Festival’s theme, followed by a video of the events that occurred during the XXIII edition. [+]

After eight days of screenings, seminars, homages and special events, the festival came to an end and the winners of the 23rd edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival were announced today (Friday 14th) during a Press Conference that took place at 1:30 pm at the Fiesta Americana Hotel.

Visionary Campus Guadalajara concluded. In collaboration with Berlinale Talent Campus, it offered a training space for filmmakers devoted to documentary.

On Friday March 14 Meeting with Creators came to an end with the screening of the film Plata quemada in the Stelaris room at Hotel Fiesta Americana. Marcelo Piñeyro, director, and Osvaldo Montes, musician, were present to converse with the audience. The film portrays the planning, development, and conclusion of an armed robbery of a security truck. Based on a real story, the movie takes place in Argentina and Uruguay in the 60’s.
