Since 2003, the Berlin International Film Festival has encouraged young filmmakers from all over the world and all professional fields to apply to the Berlinale Talent Campus. Over 350 of them are invited to Berlin each year to reflect on their ideas about film in lectures, ateliers and panel discussions, and to work on their projects in specialized hands-on workshops. Beside The Talent Campus Berlin, annual editions of “Campus Abroad” take place in New Delhi, Cape Town, Sarajevo and Buenos Aires.

This year the Guadalajara International Film Festival together with with Canana Films and Ambulante Gira de Documentales, will host the Visionary Campus Guadalajara in cooperation with Berlinale Talent Campus.

70 participants selected with the support of prestigious film schools, institutions and production groups, from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, including Colombia will come to Guadalajara , where a approximate of 50 internationally acclaimed experts and film professionals will share insight into their lives and work.

We will have the honour of welcoming: Fernando Eimbcke (Temporada de patos, participant at first Berlinale Talent Campus in 2003) Fernando Birri (Tire Dié, Un señor muy viejo con unas alas enormes), Everardo González (Los Ladrones viejos, Las leyendas de Artegio), Miguel Littín (El chacal de Nahueltoro, Acta general de Chile), Carlos Marcovich (¿Quién diablos es Juliette?), David Blaustein (Hacer Patria, Botín de guerra), Emilio Maillé (Rosario Tijeras, Un Buñuel mexicano), Fernando Solanas (Tangos: El exilio de Gardel, La dignidad de los Nadies), Nicolás Echevarría (Cabeza de vaca, María Sabina) and Mercedes Moncada (La pasión de María Elena y El inmortal)

Also we have the participation of professionals such as Christine Troestrum (Berlinale Talent Campus), Cynthia Kane (International Media and Development Fund IMDF), Milton Crespo (Programming and Acquisition Director of Telesur), Elena Fortes (Director of Ambulante Documentary Film Festival), Elena Vilardell (Ibermedia Program), Eva Villareal (Programming and Acquisition Director of Cannel 22), Diana Holtzberg (Sales Agent Films Transit), Isabel Arrate (Jan Vrijman Fund), Jaime Romandia (Producer of Batalla en el Cielo and Luz Silenciosa), Jonathan Miller (Documentary Distributor First Run / Icarus Film), Karl Baumgartner (Producer of Drunken Sailor and Super8), María Lourdes Cortés (Director of Cinergia Costa Rica), Pablo Morales (Intradoc.net), Patricia Boero (PBS Latino), Silvio Da-Rin (DocTV Ibero América), Vincenzo Bugno (World Cinema Fund Berlinale) and Yvonne Ruocco (Documentary Producer SurFilms).

Visionary Campus Guadalajara is organized with the support of the Departamento de Imagen y Sonido CUAAD/Universidad de Guadalajara, Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, Cinergia (Costa Rica) and Casa Comal (Guatemala).
