Aleida Gallangos tiene apenas 5 años de conocer su verdadera identidad. Sus padres desaparecieron en 1975 durante la llamada «Guerra sucia» en México. Ella y su hermano mayor fueron adoptados por familias diferentes y se perdieron la pista durante casi treinta años. Desde que descubrió la verdad sobre su pasado, Aleida se ha dedicado a reconstruir su historia familiar y a buscar a su hermano y a sus padres. El documental se acerca de manera íntima al proceso de la búsqueda del hermano, así como al seguimiento de su relación después de su inesperado encuentro en Washington, D.C., y busca darle un rostro y una voz a uno de los numerosos casos de desaparecidos en México en los años setenta. Es el primer caso conocido en México de hijos que se reencuentran y recuperan su identidad original.

It’s been only 5 years that Aleida Gallangos knows her true identity. Her parents were disappeared in 1975 during the so called Dirty War in Mexico. She and her older brother were adopted by different families and lost track of each other during almost 30 years. Since she found out about her past, Aleida has dedicated to reconstruct the family history and to look for her brother and parents. The documentary approaches the process of the quest of the brother as well as of the unfolding of their relationship after their unexpected encounter in Washington, D.C in an intimate way. The documentary gives a face and a voice to one of the numerous cases of people who disappeared in Mexico during the seventies. This is the first known case in Mexico of children who reunite and recover their original identity.

CHRISTIANE BURKHARD
De origen alemán, es Licenciada en Ciencias Políticas y tiene 15 años viviendo en México. Es egresada del Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, documentalista, productora independiente y docente en el área de documental de dicho centro. También es fundadora de su propia compañía de producción, Prysma Comunicación. Desde el 2002 ha dirigido y producido diversos proyectos de comunicación a nombre de Prysma, en México, Alemania y Austria. En el 2006 recibió la beca Media Arts Fellowship de la Fundación Rockefeller, para su producción de Trazando Aleida, coproducida por el IMCINE y Prysma comunicación.

Of German origin, she has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and has been living in Mexico for 15 years. She graduated from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. She is a documentarist, independent producer, and a docent in the documentary subjects at the same center. She has also founded her own production company Prysma Comunicación. She has directed and produced diverse communication projects since 2002 under the name Prysma in Mexico, Germany and Austria. In 2006 se received a Media Arts Fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation, in order to produce Trazando Aleida, as a coproduction between IMCINE and Prysma comunicación.
