Este te documental cuenta la particular y paradójica historia de Federación, un pueblo entrerriano que en los años setenta fue demolido e inundado, y sus pobladores trasladados compulsivamente a una “Nueva Ciudad” debido a la construcción de la represa de Salto Grande. Resignados al progreso, los federaenses se adaptaron a su nueva vida: sin lugares de reunión, sin árboles, con casas tan idénticas que se confundían entre sí. Las familias quedaron dispersas, los amigos dejaron de verse, y en medio de una crisis económica, los trasladados vivieron diez años puertas adentro, en una ciudad fantasma.

This documentary tells the peculiar and paradoxical story of Federación, a small argentine town that was demolished and flooded during the late seventies, and its inhabitants compulsively moved to a “New Town” because of the building of the Salto Grande dam. Today, almost 30 years later, Federación is visited by thousands of tourists. It’s not due to the exploitation of their touching story or because of the remains of the old town that appear when the waters of the lake come down, but because of the underground thermal waters discovered during the nineties. Like they always repeat, almost like a prayer: “what the waters drifted from us, they brought along”

NÉSTOR FRENKEL. Sonidista de oficio desde 1993, en 1999 dirige y produce una serie de cortos animados titulados Marcello G., sólo un hombre…, y luego el mediometraje de animación Plata segura. En 2005 estrena su primer largometraje de ficción Vida en Marte” y Buscando a Reynols su primer largometraje documental. A fines de 2007 terminó su documental Construccion de una ciudad. Actualmente produce el largometraje de ficción La hora del Siesta.

NÉSTOR FRENKEL is a professional sound designer since 1993. In 1999 he directed a series os animated short films with the title Marcello G., sólo un hombre…. In 1994 directed the medium feature Plata segura. In 2005 he directed his first feature Vida en Marte and Buscando a Reynols his first documentary feature.
