La familia de Ana se fue de Cuba en una balsa, pero ella decidió quedarse. Ernesto lleva años tratando de irse del país y todas sus pertenencias caben en un maletín. Ambos se conocen cuando Ernesto acude al hospital donde ella trabaja. Aunque cada uno encuentra en el otro lo que les falta, están conscientes de que han elegido caminos muy distintos. Ana y Ernesto se enamoan irremediablemente, al punto de que uno no puede prescindir del otro. Pero, ¿cómo ayudas a que la persona que amas se aleje de ti? ¿Cuán lejos estás dispuesto a llegar para quedarte con ella?

Ana’s family left Cuba in a boat but she decided to stay. Ernesto has been trying to leave the country for years and all his belongings fit in a suitcase. Both meet when Ernesto goes to the hospital where she works. Although each one finds what they need in the other person, they are aware that they chose very different ways of living. Ana and Ernesto fall in love until they can’t split. But, how can you help the person you love to leave you? What would you do to stay with that person?

ALEJANDRO BRUGÉS (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1976)
Se formó en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV de San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba) Fue guionista de varias películas cubanas y forma parte de la productora independiente cubana Producciones La 5ta Avenida. Personal Belongings es su primer largometraje como director.

He graduated from the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba). He was scriptwriter of several Cuban film and is one of the partners at the Cuban indie film production company; “Producciones La 5ta Avenida”. Personal Belongings is his first feature as director.
