Situada en la África precolonial. Saga regresa a su aldea después de una larga ausencia y se encuentra con que su padre se ha casado con Nogma, su prometida. Todavía enamorados Saga y Nogma inician un amorío, que se considera incesto. Cuando se descubre, Koudri, hermano de Saga, finge matar a su hermano por el honor de su familia y su pueblo. Saga y Nogma huyen a otro pueblo, pero cuando la madre de Nogma muere, ellos regresan. Saga es asesinado por Koudri, por lleva a la familia a la ruina. Koudri huye al exilio y a una muerte probable.
Set in a pre-colonial African past, Saga returns to his village after an extended absence to discover that his father has taken Nogma, Saga’s promised bride, for himself. Still in love with each other, the two begin an affair, although it would be considered incestuous. When the liaison is discovered, Saga’s brother, Koudri, pretends to kill Saga for the honor of the family and village. Saga and Nogma flee to another village, but when Nogma’s birth mother dies, they return home. Having brought ruin on the family, Saga is shot by Koudri, who walks off into exile and probable death.

IDRISSA QUEDRAOGO (Banfora, Burkina Faso, 1954). Asistió a la escuela de cine del Instituto Africano de Educación Cinematográfica en Ougadougou, estudió cine en Kiev, Ucrania y se graduó en el Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques in Paris, 1985. Ha ganado numerosos premios en festivales internacionales por sus películas Yaaba y Tilaí.
Attended film school at the Institut Africain d’Education Cinématographique in Ouagadougou; studied film in Kiev, Ukraine; graduated from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques in Paris, 1985. He won several prizes in festivals for Yaaba and Tilai.
