Based on the groundbreaking revelation that surfing was actually invented by penguins. In the film, a documentary crew will take audiences behind the scenes and onto the waves during the most competitive, heartbreaking and dangerous display of surfing known to man, the Penguin World Surfing Championship.

ASH BRANNON, animador nominado a los premios Óscar, trabajó en el primer largometraje animado de Pixar, Toy Story. Fue co-director en la secuela Toy Story 2 y estuvo a cargo de la fantástica cinta animada Surf´s up, para la cual Zooey Deschanel, James Woods, Jeff Bridges y Jon Heder aportaron sus voces. Sus estudios los llevó a cabo en el Instituto de las Artes de California.

Ash Brannon is an Academy Award nominated animator who worked on Pixar’s first feature length animated film, Toy Story. He was co-director on the sequel, Toy Story 2 and also helmed the CG-penguin-tastic animated film, Surf’s Up – for which Zooey Deschanel, James Woods, Jeff Bridges and Jon Heder provided voices, for which he received his Oscar nomination. According to his commentary on Toy Story 2, his licence plate ID is LZTYBRN, the same as Al McWhiggin in that same movie. He studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts.

CHRIS BUCK hizo su opera prima como director en Tarzan, después de casi dos décadas de contribuciones como animador. Empezó su carrera profesional con Disney en 1978 y a partir de eso trabajó en proyectos animados para el Estudio y para otras compañías productoras.
Nacido en Wichita, Kansas, estudió animación de personajes por dos años en CalArts antes del despegue de su carrera en Disney como animador en la cinta de 1981 The Fox and the Hound. Después de eso recibió un crédito de animación en el cortometraje Fun with Mr. Future, e hizo algunos trabajos experimentales en Who framed Roger Rabbit.
De regreso en Disney, Buck ayudó a diseñar personajes para la exitosa The Little mermaid (1989).
En 1992 Buck regresó de lleno como supervisor de animación en la película animada de 1995 Pocahontas, para la cual supervisó la creación de tres personajes.

Chris Buck makes his feature directing debut on Tarzan following nearly two decades of outstanding contributions as an animator, supervising animator, character designer and director. He began his professional career with Disney in 1978 and has subsequently worked on animated projects for the Studio as well as for other production companies.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, Buck studied character animation for two years at CalArts before launching his career at Disney as an animator on the 1981 animated feature, The Fox and the Hound. Following that, he received an animation credit on a short film, Fun with Mr. Future and did some experimental work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Buck helped design characters for the 1989 animated blockbuster, The Little Mermaid, and performed similar duties as well as experimental animation for the Studio’s next animated offering, The Rescuers Down Under. In 1992, Buck supervised animaton for animated feature, Pocahontas.
