Después de la Neblina es un documental sobre una resistencia radical de una comunidad pequeña que esta luchando contra una mina propuesta de cobre que podria destruir su manera de la vida por siempre. La película es narrada por los fundadores y los niños de Junín que presentan cómo la vida diaria ha sido afectada por los depósitos ricos de minerales que fueron descubiertos debajo de su tierra. Mientras que dos empresas mineras de explotación han sido más descaradas en sus tentativas de infiltrar y de controlar el área, la comunidad debe unirse en una lucha unida para sobrevivir. Estos campesinos, una vez pacíficos, se encuentran en un mundo peligroso de la corrupción, familias desunidas, asesinatos, delitos e incendios mientras que luchan con fuerza para proteger a su tierra y familias.

When Clouds Clear is a gripping story of human survival and sacrifice. A remote Ecuadorian town of 270 people, Junin, has managed to preserve their cloud forest and water sources in face of strong adversary. The people fight radically to keep their community free of contamination and are often forced to take an extreme approach in their resistance against copper mining. Much of the tradition and culture is being lost and economic pressures have caused confusion, greed and irrevocable divisions. However, the town has banished those in support of mining and united against the foreign companies. The main narrator is a 14-year-old boy from Junin who has continued his education in hopes it will one day help in the fight. He remains youthfully optimistic that mining will never occur and the fractured relationships between families will be repaired.

ANNE SLICK – Directora- Productora / Director- Producer
Nació y creció en Atlanta, GA y comenzó su carrera de cineasta en NYU. Ha trabajado en la producción de proyectos como el de Scorsese «No Direction Home: Bob Dylan,» un documental acerca de los primeros años del músico y archivando el trabajo experimental del realizador Jack Smith. Anne ha dirigido y producido varios cortos documentales e instalaciones usando 16mm, super 8 y video, pero Después de la Neblina es su primer largo documental, que ha sido premiado en NYSCA Individual Artist Award and a Pittsburgh Filmmakers’ First Works Grant.

She was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and began her filmmaking career while in college at NYU. She has worked on the production of projects such as Martin Scorsese’s «No Direction Home: Bob Dylan,» a documentary about the early years of the famous musician and archiving the experimental filmmaker Jack Smith’s library of work. Anne has directed and produced a range of experimental documentary shorts and film installations using 16MM, super 8 and video, but Después de la Neblina is her directorial debut for a feature- length documentary, which has been awarded a NYSCA Individual Artist Award and a Pittsburgh Filmmakers’ First Works Grant.

DANIELLE BERNSTEIN – Directora- Productora- Fotógrafa / Director-Producer- Cinematographer
Ganadora como fotógrafa y realizadora ha producido documentación en temas desde la desaparición de una comunidad pesquera en el corto Almahrosa exhibido en el Museo de Bellas Artes en Boston en una instalación y escultura. Después de la Neblina, es para la ganadora de NYSCA y de Pittsburgh Filmmaker, su primer largometraje codirigido, producido y fotografiado por ella. Los roles de dirección y fotógrafa los seguirá combinando en proyectos futuros.

Danielle Bernstein’s award- winning skills as photographer and filmmaker have produced documentation on topics ranging from a disappearing fishing community in the 16MM short film Almahrosa screened at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston to video installation and sculpture. Después de la Neblina, winner of NYSCA and Pittsburgh Filmmaker’s grants, is the first feature length film co-directed, produced and shot by the emerging filmmaker. The roles of direction and cinematography are something she enjoys and she will continue to combine these two skills in future projects.
