Disfraces, escondites y falsos nombres sirven para que la Niña, junto a su primo Teo, reinventen la vida de sus padres, guerrilleros en los años sesenta en Venezuela. Como en un juego, ellos hacen de la persecución y clandestinidad una aventura de Super Héroes, mientras esperan que sus padres regresen de la montaña.
Pero el juego infantil no logra ocultar las contradicciones y traiciones que se viven dentro de las guerrillas. El miedo siempre está ahí, más aún en los días que llegan las Postales de Leningrado.
Costumes, hide-aways and fake names, allow the Girl and her cousin Teo to reinvent their parents’ lives, active militants in the Venezuelan guerrilla warfare of the 60’s. As in a game, and while they await their parents’ return from the mountain, they conceive persecution and secrecy as a Superhero’s adventure. But the child’s game is incapable of hiding the treason and contradictions which dictate life amongst the guerrillas. Nevertheless, fear pervades in their reinvented world, and more so, when Postcards from Leningrad arrive.

Estudia en París Cine de Animación. En 1986 ingresa a la primera generación de estudiantes de la EICTV, Cuba, donde dirige los cortometrajes CÁSCARAS y ALGO CAÍA EN EL SILENCIO. En 1991 crea la Empresa Productora Sudaca Films, la cual preside. En 1994 dirige CALLE 22, ganador de 22 premios internacionales, tales como: Biarritz, Francia,1994; Huelva, España,1994; Golden Awards Ficción. New York International Shortfilm Expo», USA, 1996. Escribe, dirige y produce su largometraje- opera prima- “A LA MEDIA NOCHE Y MEDIA”- Venezuela/ Perú 1999 (co-dirección con Marité Ugás), ganadora de Opera Prima en “Providence”, USA, 2000; “Montevideo”, Uruguay, 2000; “Mérida”, 2005; Participación Oficial en 36 Festivales Internacionales, como Tokyo, Rótterdam o Seattle.
A mediados del 2007 estrena su segundo largometraje, “POSTALES DE LENINGRADO”, ganador del Gran Premio “El Abrazo” de Biarritz; El Premio Revelación del Jurado y Premio del Público Jóven en la Mostra de Sao Paulo; 6 premios, incluyendo mejor Película, en el Festival de Mérida y 5 premios, incluyendo Mejor largometraje Venezolano, del Municipio de Caracas. Como productora, actualmente prepara el rodaje del largometraje GRIETAS 1- EL CHICO QUE MIENTE, a ser dirigido por Marité Ugás.
She studies Animation Cinematography in Paris. In 1986, she enters the first generation of students of the EICTV, Cuba, where she directs short films, such as “EGGSHELLS” and “SOMETHING FALLING INTO SILENCE”. In 1991, she establishes “Sudaca Films”, a production company which she currently presides. In 1994, she directs “STREET 22”, amassing 22 international awards such as: “Biarritz», France, 1994; «Huelva», Spain, 1994; «Golden Awards Fiction. New York International Shortfilm Expo», USA, 1996. She wrote, directed and produced her first feature, “AT MIDNIGHT AND A HALF”, Venezuela/Perú, 1999 (Co-directed by Marité Ugás). Official participation in 40 international festivals, such as Tokyo, Rotterdam and Seattle, also receiving several Opera Prima awards.
During 2007 she releases her second feature “POSTCARDS FROM LENINGRAD”. Awards: Grand Prix El Abrazo, Biarritz; Revelation Jury Price and Public award, Mostra de Sao Paulo; 6 awards, including Best Film, Festival de Mérida and 5 awards, including Best Venezuelan Film, Municipio de Caracas. As a producer, she prepares the shooting of the feature film “CRACKS”, to be directed by Marité Ugás.
