En el México de 1994, Mariano, un atormentado joven de catorce años, ha decidido quitarse la vida, no sin antes dejar un testimonio en video para explicarle al mundo las razones de su decisión: por un accidente doméstico ocurrido años atrás, es señalado como el causante del retraso mental y psicomotor de su hermano menor. Enfrenta distanciamiento familiar y una culpabilidad sin respuestas. El resultado de su grabación es un nostálgico y conmovedor retrato del alma de un joven que expone motivos y aspectos de su particular visión del mundo.
In Mexico, in 1994, Mariano, a tormented fourteen year old boy has decided to commit suicide leaving a testimony on a videotape explaining the World the reasons he had: because of an accident occurred a few years before in his home, he is pointed as the cause of the retardation of his little brother. He faces his family fading away from him and a feelingof guilt. The result of his recording is a nostalgic and touching portrait of a young man´s soul exposing motivations and aspectsof his particular vision of the World.

SERGIO TOVAR VELARDE (Tepic, Nayarit, 1982). Director, guionista y editor. Sus trabajos han sido seleccionados en más de cincuenta festivales en paÃses como Estados Unidos, Francia, España, Argentina, Perú, Albania. Ha obtenido premios como la Diosa de Plata, otorgada por la Asociación de Periodistas Cinematográficos de México, el de Mejor Cortometraje Mexicano en el Festival Expresión en Corto de Guanajuato, Integral Realization Award del New York Short Film Festival y el Remi Award del WorldFest (Houston), entre otros. Es licenciado en Comunicación por la Universidad Iberoamericana y ha realizado estudios de Dirección Escénica, Apreciación Cinematográfica y CinefotografÃa. Aurora Boreal es su Ópera Prima.
Director, screenwriter and editor. His films have been selected in over fifty film festivals in countries like the USA, France, Spain, Argentina, Peru and Albany. He has received awards such as the Silver Goddess, given by the Mexican Cinema Journalists Association, the Best Mexican Short Film Award at the Expresión en Corto Film Festival (Guanajuato), the Integral Realization Award at the New York Short Film Festival and the Remi Award at the WorldFest (Houston), among others. He has a Degree in Communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and also studied Directing, Film Aesthetics and Cinematography. Aurora Boreal is his first feature film.
