Saslaya, una niña nicaraguense de 12 años huye con su hermano Darío en busca de su madre quien emigró a Costa Rica ocho años antes. Los niños viajan de Managua a Granada, cruzan el lago y van a través de la selva. A veces caminan según sus deseos, a veces planean. En su viaje encuentran diferentes personajes y se enfrentan a retos. En la Frontera con Costa Rica los dos se separan, en el camino rescriben su destino.
Saslaya, a 12-year-old Nicaraguan girl, runs away with her brother Darío to look for their mother, who emigrated to neighboring Costa Rica eight years earlier. The children travel from Managua to Granada, cross the lake and through the jungle; sometimes just following the wind, other times planning their itinerary. On their journey, they encounter different characters and face many challenging situations. At the border to Costa Rica, the girl and her brother get separated. Along their journey, Saslaya and Darío rewrite their destiny.

ISHTAR YASIN (Moscow, 1968)
En 1985, cuando contaba diecisiete años de edad, marchó a su Rusia natal para completar su formación académica y artística en Moscú, donde obtuvo un Máster en interpretación teatral y cinematográfica. Acabados estos estudios, regresó a Costa Rica, donde reside actualmente. Su incesante actividad creativa ha llevado a Ishtar Yasin Gutiérrez a cultivar al mismo tiempo numerosas parcelas artísticas y literarias, como la pintura, la literatura, el cine, el teatro y las entrevistas periodísticas (por las que es muy conocida en su ámbito centroamericano).
She studied at the Colegio Conservatorio Castella in San José, Costa Rica. After two years at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Costa Rica she moved to Moscow in 1985 to study acting at the State Cinema Institute of Moscow (VGIK). In 1992, she founded Teatro Ambar, an independent theater group for which she has written several productions, which she has co-directed and acted in. Apart from founding the Salamandra theater group in 1994, she set up Astarté Producciones in 1998. That same year she directed her first video, Jaulas (Cages). The Path is her first feature-length film.
