La Rabia es un film sobre la tierra y su gente que se convierte en parte de ella. Dos niños expuestos a la violencia y la sexualidad del campo. Una niña muda, un niño condenado a ser hombre desde su nacimiento y unos padres que mantienen relaciones carnales extramaritales frente a los ojos de sus hijos. Los niños sueltos a su imaginación, fragilidad y supervivencia en medio de la inmensa llanura. La agresividad de la naturaleza y la embestida de los adultos, frente a la inocencia del mundo infantil oculto tras la furia de “La Rabia”.

La Rabia is a film about the land and its people, who become part of it. Two children exposed to country´s violence and sexuality. A mute girl, a boy condemned to be a man since his birth and parents that have adulterous sex in front of their children´s eyes. The children left to their imagination, fragility and survival in the midst of the vast plains. The aggresiveness of nature and the assault of adults, contrasting with the innocence of the world of children hidden behind the fury of “La Rabia”.

ALBERTINA CARRI (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1973)
Directora y guionista es una de las figuras básicas en la concepción del Nuevo Cine Argentino. Son características de su trabajo la versatilidad constatnte y la búsqueda entre diferentes géneros. Ha explorado desde el cine negro al documental, la ficción, el melodrama pornográfico y el drama familiar.

Director and scriptwriter, is one of the figures laying the groundwork for the concept of New Argentine Film. Characteristic are versatility and constant research into different genres. She has explored both film noire, and documentary, bordering on fiction, pornographic melodrama and family drama.
