Durante un ciclón cae en la costa, cerca de un rancho, un señor muy viejo con unas alas enormes. Allí viven Pelayo y Elisenda. Pelayo sale a tirar los cangrejos muertos que le invaden la casa desde hace tres días. En las luces del amanecer descubre bajo la lluvia una «cosa» atascada entre las rocas, golpeada por las olas y la basura del mar. La «cosa» tiene alas con plumas blancas. Se suceden hechos inquietantes que sólo el pequeño Anaján es capaz de entender; algo va a suceder un día de estos…
During a cyclone, a very old man with enormous wings falls at the coast, near a ranch. Pelayo and Elisenda live at that ranch. Pelayo leaves the house to dump dead crabs which have been invading his home for three days. In the light of dawn, under the falling rain, he discovers “something” stuck among the rocks, battered by the waves and flotsam. The “thing” has white feathered wings. Many disquieting things happen, which only little Anaján is able to understand. Something is happening one of these days…

FERNANDO BIRRI (Santa Fe, Argentina, 1925)
Cineasta, poeta, pintor, profesor y teórico de notables textos sobre el cine argentino y latinoamericano, es uno de los artistas cinematográficos más originales de América Latina. Cursó estudios en el Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia de Roma, y fundó y dirigió en 1956 el Instituto de Cinematografia de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral. En su filmografía destacan el documental Tire dié (1956-58) y la comedia de tintes neorrealistas Los inundados (1961), considerada un clásico del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano. También es uno de los fundadores de la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños, de Cuba, la cual dirige 1986 a 1990.
Filmmaker, poet, painter, professor and theoretician author of notable texts on Argentine and Latin American cinema is one of Latin America’s most original artists. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, founded and directed in 1956 the Instituto de Cinematografia of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral. Among his films, the documentary Tire dié (1956-58) and the comedy with neorealist strokes Los inundados (1961), considered a classic of the New Latin American Cinema, can be pointed out. He is also one of the founders of the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, which he directs from 1986 to 1990.
