Se está llevando a cabo un experimento en el ejercicio de la democracia en Wuhan, la ciudad más populosa en China central. Por primera vez en la historia, los estudiantes de tercer grado en la Escuela Primaria Evergreen en Wuhan China van a elegir un monitor de clase. El monitor de clase, elegido tradicionalmente por el maestro, es una posición de poder, que ayuda a controlar a los estudiantes, manteniéndolos en línea y castigando a aquellos que desobedecen. El maestro ha escogido tres candidatos, Luo Lei (un niño), Cheng Cheng (un niño); Xu Xiaofei (una niña). A cada candidato se le pide que escoja dos asistentes que le ayuden con su campaña.

An experiment in democracy is taking place in Wuhan, the most populous city in central China. For the first time ever, the students in grade three at Evergreen Primary School in Wuhan, China have been asked to elect a class monitor. Traditionally appointed by the teacher, the class monitor holds a powerful position, helping to control the students, keeping them on task and doling out punishment to those who disobey. The teacher has chosen three candidates: Luo Lei (a boy), the current class monitor; Cheng Cheng (a boy); and Xu Xiaofei (a girl). Each candidate is asked to choose two assistants to help with his or her campaign.

WEIJUN CHEN
Es un director de documentales y productor que vive en Wuhan, China. Tras graduarse en Periodismo por la Universidad de Sechuan en 1992, se unió al Departamento de la estación regional de TV de Wuhan. Su primer film, My Life is my Philosophy, fue nominado como mejor documental del año por la Asociación Nacional China de Teletransmisores. En 2003 terminó Vivir es mejor que morir, el cual ganó un premio Peabody y otro Grearson al igual que un premio Rodlf Vrfba en el One World Festival. Please Vote for Me ganó el Sterling Feature Award en el Silverdocs Documentary Festival (2007).

Is a documentary director and producer living in Wuhan, China. After graduating in Journalism from the Sichuan University in 1992 he joined the documentary production department of the Wuhan regional TV station. His first film, My Life is my Philosophy, was nominated for the best documentary of the year by the Chinese National Association of Broadcasters. In 2003 he completed To Live is Better than to Die, which was awarded a Peabody and Grierson award, as well at the Rodlf Vrfba Award from the One World Festival. Please Vote for Me won the Sterling Feature Award at the Silverdocs Documentary Festival (2007).
