Hezurbeltzak es una palabra en euskera que no aparece en ningún diccionario. Palabra inexistente para nombrar de forma despectiva a grupos de gente socialmente invisibles. Traducción literal: “huesos negros”.

The Basque word hezurbeltzak does not appear in dictionaries. It is a non-existing word used to describe socially invisible groups. Its literal translation would be “black bones”.

IZIBENE OÑEDERRA (Azkoitia, España, 1979).Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la UPV, especializándose en pintura y en cine de animación. Tiene inscrita su tesis sobre la figura del antihéroe y sus formas de representación en el arte contemporáneo. Además, expone asiduamente con la galería Epelde-Mardaras de Bilbao. Imparte talleres de animación a niños y ha participado en el proyecto de animación Berbaoc en el centro Arteleku de Donostia-San Sebastián.

She got a degree in Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country and she specialized in painting and in animation cinema. She wrote a thesis on the figure of the antihero and how it has been represented in contemporary art. She exhibits her work regularly with the Epelde-Mardaras gallery from Bilbao. She has organised animation workshops for children and nowadays, she took part in the Berbaoc animation project, in the Arteleku Centre in San Sebastian.
