Un hombre despierta en un autobús y todos se han ido. La noche ha caído. Baja del autobús y se encuentra a la entrada del bosque. La noche cubre el camino. Llegan sonidos de los profundo del bosque. El hombre entra al bosque y desaparece en la noche. Continental presenta cuatro personajes cuyas vidas se entretejerán sutilmente debido a su repentina desaparición. Lucette (Marie-Ginette Guay), es la esposa del hombre que espera ansiosa el retorno de su marido. Louis (Réal Bossé), es un joven agente de ventas que acepta un trabajo que pone a su familia y a sy relación con su esposa bajo presión. Chantal (Fanny Mallette), es un recepcionista de hotel que sueña con compartir su vida con alguien especial. Marcel (Gilbert Sicotte), es un ex tahúr que se enfrenta a las realidades del envejecimiento. Aunque estas historias se cuentan por separado, terminan por intersectarse y reflejarse una en otra. Una comedia negra agridulce, Continental presenta una mirada fresca a la vulnerabilidad de los individuos y el frágil enlace que nos une unos con otros.

A man wakes up on a bus and everybody is gone. Night has fallen. He gets off the bus and finds himself at the edge of a forest. The road is veiled by darkness. Sounds are coming from deep within the woods. The Man enters the forest and disappears into the night. Continental stages four characters whose lives will subtly intertwine due to this sudden disappearance. Lucette (Marie-Ginette Guay), the Man’s wife who anxiously awaits her husband’s return. Louis (Réal Bossé), a young traveling salesman who accepts a job that puts pressure on his family, and his relationship with his wife. Chantal (Fanny Mallette), a hotel receptionist who dreams of sharing her life with someone special. Marcel (Gilbert Sicotte), an ex-gambler who confronts the realities of aging. Although told separately, these stories end up by intersecting and mirroring each other. A bittersweet black comedy, Continental takes a fresh look at the vulnerability of individuals and the fragile link that unites us to one another.

Durante los pasados diez años, Stéphane Lafleur ha contribuido a la creación de más de 30 peliculas cortas independientes. El es uno de los notables miembros fundadores de el movimiento Kino. En 1999, su cortometraje estudiantil Karaoké fue selecciónado por el Festival du Nouveau Cinema en Montreal y por el Toronto International Film Festival, donde ganó una Mención especial del jurado. Karaoké también ganó el Premio del público, el Premio del director y Mencion especial del jurado en el Proje(c)t Y festival dedicado a cortometrajes hechos en Quebec. En 2002 snooze fue escogida para abrir el Rendez-vous du cinema québécois.Este film también fue mostrado en el Toronto International Film Festival y en el Namur International Film Festival. Su último corto Claude se ha distinguido en el circuito de festivales, presentándose en el Toronto International Film Festival, el Vancouver International Film Festival, al igual que en Interfilm Berlin, entre otros. In the last 10 years, Stéphane Lafleur has contributed to the creation of more than 30 independent short films. He is notably one of the founding members of the Kino movement. In 1999, his student short film Karaoké was selected at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal and at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it earned a Jury’s Special Mention. Karaoké also won the Public Award, the Directors’ Award, and a Jury’s Special Mentionat the Proje(c)t Y festival, dedicated to short films made in Quebec. In 2002, snooze was chosen to open the Rendez-vous du cinema québécois. The film was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and at the Namur International Film Festival. His latest short, Claude, has distinguished itself on the festival circuit, screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, as well as Berlin’s Interfilm, among others. Stéphane Lafleur also works as an editor for various television productions (the cutting-edge Les Francs-tireurs and the hit series François en série), documentaries (including the vibrant Manon and La famille Hilton), and numerous award-winning videos for bands such as Les Trois Accords, Malajube and Les Cowboys Fringants. Continental is his first feature film.
