Visionary Campus: A Support Network for Ibero-American Documentary

visionarycampus20071.jpgThe Guadalajara International Film Festival aspires to maintain and intensify its interest and support for the documentary genre. For this reason, and on its XXIII edition, the festival organizes with Canana Films and Ambulante Traveling Documentary Film Festival, the Visionary Campus Guadalajara in cooperation with Berlinale Talent Campus. This event consists in workshops and Master Classes focused on the talent and creativity of the young audiovisual artists and filmmakers from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and also Colombia.

After the experience of the Berlinale Talent Campus, this year’s festival has the initiative to offer an event where the local audiovisual experts and filmmakers currently working on documentaries can come together and make creative exchanges that support future projects of this particular genre (ideas, planning, funding, production, post-production, exhibition and sales).

An approximate of 50 professional and consecrated documentary filmmakers will work as tutors in Master Classes for the chosen 70, who will participate for free. For those participants who lack the resources for their travel, the festival will offer help to cover partially or in some cases the entirety of this cost.

The Guadalajara International Film Festival, Canana Films and Ambulante Traveling Documentary Film Festival will select the 70 participants for this event, with the support of prestigious film schools, institutions and production groups, from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, including Colombia.
