Guillermo Navarro will coach young filmmakers
Guillermo Navarro will be participating at the Guadalajara International Film Festival offering two cinematography classes.
The Oscar Award winner for El laberinto del fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth, directed by Guillermo del Toro) will share his knowledge at the II workshop Escribiendo con Luz (Writing with Light) organized by the Festival and the Department of Image and Sound of the University of Guadalajara.
This workshop is for students of cinema schools throughout Mexico and young cinematography creators. Registration will close on February 22.
This second edition of Writing with Light will take place on March 8-9, 2008. As in previous years, this forum is an ideal meeting ground for young Mexican students and filmmakers with international cinematographic creators. In 2007, Rodrigo Prieto participated in the workshop.
Guillermo Navarro has a prominent background. He has worked in a number of celebrated films which include Desperado and From dusk till dawn, by Robert RodrÃÂguez; Silencio roto, by Montxo Armendáriz; Imagining Argentina, by Christopher Hampton; and Jackie Brown, by Quentin Tarantino. He also has a constant and successful involvement with Guillermo del Toro in Cronos, El espinazo del Diablo (The Devil’s Backbone), El laberinto del fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth), and both sagas of Hellboy.
