The Guadalajara International Film Festival presents its line-up
The Festival’s director, Jorge Sánchez, announced the complete line-up for this XXIII edition at a Press Conference yesterday here in Guadalajara.
Some of the announcements were: the recipient of the 2008 Guadalajara Award (Premio Guadalajara): the acclaimed Argentine musician, composer and producer Gustavo Santaolalla.
Among this year’s distinguished guests are: Bertha Navarro (Silver Mayahuel 2008 and to whom the Festival will dedicate a Homage) and the Argentine laureated filmmakers Fernando Birri, Fernando Pino Solanas, and Lita Stantic (to whom the Festival dedicates the International Filmmakers Tribute in 2008).
Also confirmed are international renowned film personalities like John Sayles and Danny Glover, director and actor of Honeydripper -that will be screened on Monday 10th; and the Canadian director Sarah Polley (Away from her) which will be presented on Saturday 8th.
