Sonex in the Festival
The music is also presented at the XXIII edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival. On Wednesday 12, during the early hours of the day (00:30), the Venezuelan group Sonex played in Rock Town in Guadalajara.
The group is formed by Luis Felipe Luna FarÃas (small guitar, zapateado, and voice), Juan Francisco Galván (double bass, León Jarocho, and electric bass); Helio MartÃn del Campo (jarana, cajón, chekeré, and voice); Camil Meseguer Rioux (violin and voice); Jerónimo González (jarana); and Daniel Ãvila Sousa (drums), who with their Jarocha fusion made the audience dance.
Between songs the audience applauded their performance. Sonex’s music is a mix of jazz, flamenco, salsa, Cuban son, black Peru, Colombian cumbia, Huasteco son, among other rhythms that are not easy to encounter in Mexico´s musical environment.
This group from Xalapa played 12 songs for over an hour. The concert ended at 01:40 am. During the Festival, different groups will be playing at the end of each day.
