Tin Tan’s films in a single volume
The book Las pelÃculas de Tin Tán, by Emilio GarcÃa Riera, was presented as part of the book presentations at the Festival. This unpublished work deals with the filming work of this Mexican comedian.
According to Leornardo GarcÃa Tsao, director of the Cineteca Nacional, “Tin Tán never was part of melodrama; he was an intelligent faun devoted to the enjoyment of pleasure.†GarcÃa Tsao was present at this event along with Diego Galán, Spanish critic, and the author’s widow and his daughter Amanda GarcÃa.
Gaque and Galán mentioned the work of Emilio GarcÃa Riera who compiled in a single volume the 99 films of Tin Tán. The Spanish critic Galán talked about how GarcÃa Riera knew how to summarize and provide critic comments regarding the history of cinema.
Cristina MartÃn explained the experience of mother and daughter to edit her husband’s book that died five years ago and wrote over 50 cinema books.
The author’s daughter, Amanda, admired his father’s work and remembered how GarcÃa Riera enjoyed the films of Tin Tan and assumed his phrases and dances.
