On Friday March 14 Meeting with Creators came to an end with the screening of the film Plata quemada in the Stelaris room at Hotel Fiesta Americana. Marcelo Piñeyro, director, and Osvaldo Montes, musician, were present to converse with the audience. The film portrays the planning, development, and conclusion of an armed robbery of a security truck. Based on a real story, the movie takes place in Argentina and Uruguay in the 60’s.

The composer Osvaldo Montes talked about his relation with directors and how trust is fundamental to follow the director and assist them as leaders of a film. He mentioned that music helps to bring to light emotions and smooth coarsenesses of production. The image is what detonates music more than the screenplay he assured. He stressed how technology has helped to carry out his musical ideas faster and trouble-free.

Marcelo Piñeyro mentioned how music is also a narrative element and “that is what a composer must interpret”. Some of the songs that are in the film were selected by Piñeyro since he was writing the screenplay.

Meeting with Creators came to an end and gave opportunity to the listeners to get in proximity to the work of filmmakers.
