The winner of Set, camera, You in action 2007

SET, CAMERA, RECYCLE YOUR ACTION is an initiative by the Guadalajara International Film Festival, which takes place for its second year, focusing on Guadalajara’s young audiences.

The 2007 call for participation was based on the motto “only life is better than cinema”.

Every participant had the opportunity to film his action (a story told in a single continuous long take lasting up to three minutes) on the sets provided in University sites and public squares.

The prizes for best clips were two scholarships for a one-week film directing workshop at the New York Film Academy.

For 2008 the call for participation starts with a film title, from which, with no interpretation or production restraints, the participants will tell a story in a single continuous shot, lasting up to three minutes.

Several bare-bones sets will be assembled on different public and university spaces which will allow the production of the story sequences. Each participant will have 30 minutes to set up his production and assemble their remake.

In the project’s latter part, a special blog for SET CAMERA YOUR ACTION, CINEMA REMAKE will be set up, as well as a special section on the Festival’s YouTube Channel.

A Making-of which will record all the activities will be available for everyone at the YouTube channel, as well as all contestants’ film clips.

Everyone is invited to comment critique and post all points of view.

A special jury will award the prize consisting of a scholarship for a one-week film directing workshop at the New York Film Academy.
