Ibero-American Fiction Feature Films
15 Ibero-American feature films will compete for the following prizes:

  • Best Film (distribution prize)
  • Special Jury Award (distribution prize)
  • Best First Feature (distribution prize)
  • Best Director (cash prize awarded unconditionally to the film’s Director)
  • Best Screenplay (trophy)
  • Best Actor (trophy)
  • Best Actress (trophy)
  • Best Cinematography (trophy)

Mexican Fiction Feature Films
12 Mexican feature films (Mexican Premieres only) For the first time, the Ibero-American section prizes awarded will be similar to those in the Mexican section.

  • Best Feature Film (distribution prize)
  • Best First Feature (distribution prize)
  • Best Director (cash prize awarded unconditionally to the film’s Director)
  • Best Screenplay (trophy)
  • Best Actor (trophy)
  • Best Actress (trophy)
  • Best Cinematography (trophy)

Ibero-American Documentary Feature Film
In this section, up to 15 documentaries with a minimum running time of 45 minutes will compete for a Distribution prize for Best Documentary.

Mexican Documentary Feature Film
6 documentaries with a minimum running time of 45 minutes will compete for a Distribution prize for best Mexican Documentary.

Ibero-American Short Film
16 short films with a maximum running time of 30 minutes will compete in this section (all must be Mexican Premieres). All Mexican Short films will be included. The following distribution prizes will be awarded:

  • Best Short Film
  • Best Animation Short Film

Mexican Short Film
Both documentaries or fiction works with a maximum running time of 30 minutes will compete in this section (Mexican Premieres only) A Best Mexican Short film Distribution Prize will be awarded.

Films in digital formats may compete in the short films sections only if they were produced or co-produced by a film school and should have not been previously screened or broadcast in Mexico
