Digital formats are now mainstream audiovisual production. Traditional distribution, exhibition, promotion and broadcasting models are constantly evolving to keep pace the the developments of digital technologies.

This year, the Guadalajara Film festival will gather an international group of experts which will explore these processes and debate their perspectives and experiences during the third edition of Digital Zone Guadalajara.

Digital Zone Guadalajara was launched in 2005, in collaboration with International Digital Cinema Market (DIGIMART) based in Montreal. It was conceived as a forum for reflection on the opportunities and challenges related to the major technological changes that are reducing costs, dramatically increasing access to global markets and splitting demand across a range of platforms.

Also, as part of the activities programmed for Digital Zone, a panel will be held to discuss the future perspectives of digital film distribution and the new digital cinema networks within the activities of Visionary Distribution.

Among the confirmed speakers are:
Sheila de la Varende, Canada (National Film Board. Project Manager, Digital Strategy); Gabriel Giandinoto & Fabio Lima, Brazil (Rain Network and Moviemobz); Pablo Morales Canedo, Spain (Interdocnet); Lucila Moctezuma, USA. (Renew Media’s Reframe Program) and the producer Joseph Beyer, USA.(Sundance Institute Online).

The 3rd Digital Zone Guadalajara will take place on March 11th and will be open to students and industry professionals.
